Photograph filters

Dear Filter Maker,

Why did you develop that filter?

Who are you trying to hide?

Are you saying I’m not good enough to be seen?

Before you I was pretty –

I should say- satisfied with my appearance;

Now I’m embarrassed to be seen without your filters.

I pale, In comparison to girls in their filters.

With my real skin, and the eyes God gave me

How Dare I?

I hide them as if now

because I have options

The real me deemed not good enough for the naked eye

Isn’t that what you are saying?

Or else explain why would you even think a

filter was necessary ?

When we look back in history

No one will ever see the real me

because of you

You implied I needed a veil to disguise who God designed me to be

You enticed me, manipulating me in,

Dared me to try your magic

My face minus every human flaw

I’m hooked

To the point I feel

ugly without it.

How bout you?
