Yes, people of course I know that the first “A” in Saturday is spelled wrong. Point is I don’t care. Quite frankly who says? I only get to be in this world once and I already lost 23 years. Why should I care that someone might sit in their kitchen and shame me for not proof reading or stepping outside the boundaries of how shits supposed to be. I say, just because some grammatical wizard long ago deemed certain English proper and certain spelling correct. Doesn’t mean I must be confined by their thinking.
I’m not saying throw the English language a way I’m merely saying we live in a world filled with rigid pre-conceptions and implicit bias. We label one racist, one prejudice but forget to examine our own reflection. So no, if you’re paying attention- I’m not referring to the spelling of Saturday what I’m really bringing up is the idea, that as humans, we let others set our ideas or standards restrict us. And I don’t know about you but I’ve had just as much restriction as I can take. How come for just once we can’t think with our own brains and go against the grain and dare to be different? Oh yeah I remember because to some of you, familiarity is normal. Further, what you have no experience with is abnormal. And I say, Fuck that! It’s just not True!
This judgement and discontent in our world is routed in not knowing. Rooted in thinking or assuming we know how things SHOULD be and anything that falls outside of those boundaries just isn’t normal. Again I say fuck that-
Normal is imperfect> And every damn one of us is imperfect, EXACTLY the way God created us to be. There is not one perfect person in this world. But we are human we are not supposed to be perfect- we are all the same and all different. We all have a mix of good and bad in us. But not everyone embraces these truths- hopefully soon you will.
I think about all the hate derived from behind bias and prejudice, And sadly it works from all pigments of skin. Sometimes in fighting against things we become similar to that which we are fighting. I have often in my own experience let a monster drive me to behave as a monster in return. Fight or Flight is real. This reaffirms stereotypes causes people to fear and distrust all that look similar to the person that harms us. It’s so unfair for anyone to class people together based on skin tone, truthfully each human has an individual brain and mind- each person be accountable for their own actions.
Do not feel as if you must live according to others expectations, or within the barriers they create for you. Follow your heart. Respect your ideas. Widen your perspective so that you may see with the eyes of whatever God you believe in. Look with love among all people. Stop thinking one bad apple spoils a thing. The truth is even that bad apple can turn into a life lesson, a testament of strength and asset to society. That bad apple can have just the experience necessary to keep any more fruit from going bad.
This is not an essay-just some thoughts for this Saturday Night.
