So I put up this post

A Wesleyan Professor Commented “That’s all behind you now. Onward.”

I responded,

“Thank God Professor but for millions just like me- it’s still happening! Lots of women who were in your Wesleyan Class are still enduring that trauma.
You see how many comments I’m getting on this? It caused trauma to all of us. And right now as I type this there are tons of human beings in cells being deprived of basic humane needs based on for most the worst five minutes of their lives. This fight for Dignity is no where near over. No I don’t have to endure it anymore but TOO many do.

I’m so blessed to be out of there- but God wants me to teach Society what goes on under the veiled society of prison. Because if no one knows they won’t know How necessary Change is.

All to often people ask me to let it go or say it’s behind you!

I know people don’t mean harm and are trying to help. But one doesn’t just let Go of 23 years of trauma and abuse. Nor does one forget about those left behind. Not this one anyway. I can’t let go because I believe God allowed me to be in the trenches so I could help others and tell our story. The story that many want to just leave behind or forget.

There is purpose in every experience. To forget is to condone. I remember. I speak out. And I trust God to change hearts & minds.
